The AURA Chamber Choir , an auditioned SATB choir of 35 to 40 singers situated in Vernon, B.C., is dedicated to the performance of fine choral music, having a music repertoire that extends from Renaissance to twenty first century and including a wide range of musical styles as well as major works by the masters.
AURA is seeking a new dynamic Music Director. Our founding director will be retiring in the spring of 2019 following a Fortieth Anniversary Concert so we are planning a transition period with auditions of applicants in the fall of 2017.
We envision the successful applicant to be a suitable fit with AURA’s vision and values, and a strong musical leader with:
-sound knowledge and skills in choral singing, and conducting
-a passion for musical interpretation and artistry
-strong teaching skills
-excellent communication and organizational skills
AURA rehearses on Tuesday evenings, September through April/May in Vernon, B.C. Remuneration details will be determined with the successful applicant.
