AURA’s next concert will feature a performance of the Brahms German Requiem.
Our conductor Imant Raminsh says this about the program:
“In this upcoming AURA season, I invite you to explore and experience with me Johannes Brahms’ wonderful German Requiem. Besides being one of the great monuments of the choral repertoire, it is also an intensely personal, intimate and comforting work, written partly as a response to the death of Brahms’ mother. It is not easy to find suitable companion music for this commanding work, but I feel I have been successful by choosing a number of smaller works on the theme of nature and evening by some of Brahms’ contemporaries: Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, and Alfven.”
Our soloists for this program will be Mia Harris and Mark Wells.
The concert will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 3205 27th Street, Vernon, BC on Saturday evening March 12th, 2016 at 7:30pm and Sunday March 13th, 2016 at 2:00pm.
