British Columbia Choral Federation presents it’s annual gathering of choral singers who come together for an inspiring weekend of camaraderie and rehearsals, culminating in a gala Sunday afternoon performance of fine choral music.
This year, Chorfestivity 2015 is hosted by AURA Chamber Choir, Counterpoint, Shuswap Men’s Chorus and Vernon Community Singers in Vernon’s Performing Arts Centre.
The gala concert will include music by Daniel Pinkham, W.A. Mozart, Samuel Barber, Eric Whitacre, David Childs, Bruce Cockburn, Rupert Lang and Vernon’s own Imant Raminsh.
In addition to the adult choir of 200 singers under the direction of OSO conductor Rosemary Thompson and a children’s choir of 100 under the direction of Sarona Mynhardt, the provincial youth choir under the direction of John Washburn will all appear in the gala concert program.
Join us on Sunday May 17 at 2:00pm in the Vernon Performing Arts Centre for an afternoon of fine choral music. Admission is by donation. All seating is “rush” so early arrival is recommended.
