Spring 2015 programs

Happy New Year to all our readers.

Thank you for your support of our very successful fall program, Alleluia.

AURA will be participating in two community events during the spring of 2015.

AURA is one of three hosts choirs for this years annual Chorfest weekend. We, along with Vernon Community Singers and Counterpoint will be learning a program that includes music by Imant Raminsh, Eric Whitacre, Mozart, Samuel Barber, Rupert Lang and others. The Chorfestivity 2015 final concert, under the direction of Rosemary Thompson, will be held at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre on May 17 at 2pm. For further information on Chorfestivity 2015, please visit the Chorfest website at chorfest2015.ca.

Many members of AURA will  be participating in the Okanagan Symphony Chorus, also under the direction of Rosemary Thompson and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, in the production of Haydn’s Creation. This program will be performed in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon (April 12, 2015 7pm at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre). More information can be found on the orchestra website at okanagansymphony.com.

We thought you might be curious about our website activity….

Since the WordPress site was started in April 2013, almost 6,000 visits to the site have taken place from 68 countries. Not surprisingly, most visits originated in Canada or the United States but there have also been visits from Brazil, Czech Republic and Guadeloupe among many others. Also not surprisingly, Google is the most often used search engine to access our site.
